Daniella Castillo Vasquez - Mikhail Bulgakov

I'm a junior at Brandeis majoring in Psychology and WGS, with a minor in Creative Writing. My theater experience is not very long but it has been incredible. I was a part of last year's Senior Festival's production of The Emassey and also was a member of Brandeis Playback theater. Theater has been, for me, a vehicle of expression unlike any other, and it has been immeasurably meaningful be a part of this amazing cast. I want to say thanks to my castmates Dara and Rosie for bringing such complex and human characters to life. To the production staff: Maggie for her tireless dedication to this play, Kat for her kindness and excellent direction, Vicente and Addison for all the hardwork behind the scenes, and especially Nate, for writing these words and creating this brilliant, innovative, funny, thought-provoking, quirky, unforgettable play that I will treasure forever. I hope everyone enjoys this play as much as I have loved portraying Bulgakov. Blast off!

Rosie Sentman - Alexei Tolstoy

Other Brandeis productions include Foolish Sanity (Foolish Authority roles) also in the thesis festival, Anton Pavlovich’s Garden Club (Anya), and The Tempest (Miranda). I’d like to thank/apologize to my suitemates for listening to me scream about Lenin through the walls on school nights. I also want to thank Nate for letting me be a part of this amazing production and constantly being an artistic role model, and the whole cast and crew for working together, supporting each other, and creating a strong ensemble despite the Zoom format. It’s been incredible to work with you all. I’m keeping the Aelita puppet forever.

Kat Lawrence - Director

Kat Lawrence is a Brandeis Student who would have been a senior this year but took the year off due to Covid-19. She plans to return in the fall to finish her degree in Theater and Music with a concentration in musical theater and her minor in film. She is very happy for the opportunity to help Nate with his thesis and is also fortunate to help out the UTC with their production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. During the pandemic she has worked hard to look after herself and family by working two jobs and trying hard to improve herself in other ways. She previously directed The Tempest with Hold Thy Peace and she hopes to direct more in the future. She also has a passion for acting and costume design. Favorite past shows include Love and Information, The Bacchae, Curious Incident, Legally Blonde, Hamlet, and so many more. Kat would like to thank everyone involved with the production for their hard work and dedication, as well as her loving boyfriend of six years Garrett. Наслаждайся представлением!

Maggie is so grateful to be “stage” managing for the first time! This project was a wonderfully creative experience, and she is so excited to help it come to fruition. Behind the curtain, she was run crew on Mamma Mia (UTC), lighting designer on Of a Mirror and Its Fragments (Free Play), assistant stage manager on Little Women (UTC), and the dramaturg on The Tempest (Brandeis Theater Department). She wants to thank Jack Hastings for being an awesome little brother and putting up with her postponing Jackbox nights for rehearsals. She would also like to say a huge Спасибо to all of the cast and crew who helped create this once in a lifetime show.
